In the End, Gold and Silver Were Mistaken

When I was little, I heard the story of the mermaid. For love, the mermaid princess gave up everything, fulfilling the one she loved and turning into beautiful sea foam.

I used to wonder whether, at the moment she became foam, she resented the prince, or regretted never telling him that she loved him, that she loved him so very much.

When I grew up and met him, I finally understood. The mermaid had never resented the prince, not from beginning to end, and she hadn't regretted a thing.

To me, Qi Chen is like the countless stars filling the sky. Even if I could take a spaceship to his side, I still couldn't touch those stars. All I can do is stay aboard the spaceship, quietly watching their brilliance, holding on to a little hope that perhaps one day I'll get the chance to step outside and embrace those unreachable stars.

Or maybe I must eventually return to the bottom of the sea and be a mermaid again, watching those stars in silence for the rest of my life, hoping they will never fall to earth.
