What Makes a Hero?

[No mindless characters + ensemble cast + multiple protagonists + not a wish-fulfillment story + alternate history]

A green-robed swordsman wandering the world, a red-clad chivalrous thief who stands up for the wronged, a young nobleman who seeks the Dao in the mountains, and a beautiful woman secluded away with a chronic illness.

For different reasons and their own purposes, they each step into the martial world, some willingly and some by force.

They visit old friends, make new ones, travel from the northern frontier to the lands south of the Yangtze, and experience every joy and sorrow of parting and reunion, together composing a free-spirited poem of youth.

If you can live true to what’s in your heart, why care if the world calls you a hero?

This story may take a while to get going. There are four protagonists in all, with the last two appearing in Volume Two. This is a sincere effort, and I hope you’ll read on patiently.

I’d be most grateful for a comment or two with your feedback!

Thank you!
