I Took My Sister's Place in a Marriage Alliance Beyond the Pass and Became the Empress Dowager

My elder half-sister excelled at scheming and had mastered every skill of palace intrigue, while I was a rough-and-tumble sort who preferred weapons to words. In my previous life, my sister was sent far beyond the frontier to marry for peace. The people and officials cursed her, and she died young, consumed by sorrow. I married the tyrannical and incompetent Ninth Prince. He despised my uncouth ways, yet used the power of my general's family to ascend the throne, then wiped out my entire clan. In this life, my sister and I have both been reborn. I will take her place and marry into the Xiongnu, while she takes my place and keeps the licentious, immoral royal family in check.
