While accompanying Sanzang to seek scriptures, Wukong defeated the White Bone Demon three times, and was later expelled by Sanzang. He returned to Huaguo Mountain and fell into a dream state after being drunk. When he saw Wu Chengen again, Wukong asked Wu Chengen to rewrite his life as a monkey.
