The Lucky Little Dumpling: The Whole Family Can Hear Her Thoughts

[The Whole Family Can Read Minds] [1980s] [Farming and Getting Rich]

The fortune-bringing cat Yuanxiao broke the laws of heaven and, after nine lifetimes, was born in 1986. Barely out of the womb, she was dumped in the wilderness by an evil old hag and left to die. Luckily, the kind Li family found and adopted her. Then they were reported by a villain, and their once-comfortable home was stripped bare.

Granny Li: "People need food as surely as iron needs steel. We can earn the money back, but the most urgent thing is finding food to keep the family alive!"

Little Yuanxiao, the fortune-bringing kitten: "Grandma, there are wild yams over there!"

Grandpa Li: "They've taken all our land. We have to find work for everyone in the family, but what can we do when we've spent our whole lives digging for food in the fields?"

Little Yuanxiao, the fortune-bringing kitten: "The spring breeze of reform is blowing everywhere. Let's go into business, too, and get rich and famous!"

The Li family: "Where did this little dumpling come from, talking like that? Could it be... those are Little Yuanxiao's thoughts?"

A young heir from one of the capital's great families sighed. "God of Wealth above, I, your faithful devotee, vow to eat both meat and vegetables for the rest of my life. Please grant me the Li family's Little Yuanxiao as my wife. I beg for your mercy..."

The Li family all raised their hoes and shovels, standing united against him. "Our family does not approve of this wish. Back off! Back off! Back off!!"
