After Doing the Empress's Dirty Work, She Ordered My Execution in Court

[Empress] + [Conquest] + [Regret] + [Slay the Gods] + [Dark]

“Lu Ren, Commander of the Embroidered Uniform Guard, has framed loyal officials, thrown the court into chaos, formed cliques for personal gain, and plotted rebellion!”

“By imperial decree, I sentence him to death here and now, for the peace of the realm!”

Seated upon the dragon throne guarded by nine dragons, Empress Xiao Tianyue looked down with phoenix eyes. Her peerless beauty was as cold as ice, and every word cut like a blade.

In the hall, Lu Ren stood with his hands behind his back, his gaze calm. Clad in a black robe embroidered with a python swallowing the moon and flying fish, he cowed the assembled officials into silence!

He had plotted the princes' deaths and helped Empress Xiao Tianyue ascend the throne!

He had founded the Embroidered Uniform Guard to keep watch over the officials, suppress the powerful clans, strengthen imperial authority, and repeatedly offer sound counsel to secure peace throughout the realm!

For this, he was also known as the Black-Robed Chancellor!

Everyone knew he had performed unparalleled service for the Great Jing!

But now...

The Great Jing was strong in arms, united in the hearts of its people, and prosperous, while the throne was more secure than ever before!

So I... no longer need you as the blade in my hand!

As the saying goes, when the birds are gone, the good bow is put away; when the wily hare is dead, the hound is cooked.

I will not only kill you, but do it here in court!

To cow the realm!

And demonstrate my righteousness!

“Guards, carry out the execution!”

Clang!

The ritual bell rang out.

A fierce shout suddenly echoed through the Hall of Jingshen.

“The Great Chu claims him!”

Three years later.

A figure in white stood before the Hall of Jingshen, raised a foot, and planted it on Xiao Tianyue's head.

“Do you know your mistake now?”
