[The Emperor’s Story]

Youth

“Why should I put up with others insulting, bullying, and humiliating me?”

“When the enemy is strong and I am weak, I must lie low.”

“When the enemy is out in the open and I am hidden, I can strike and kill them!”

Young Adulthood

“I am already king. Why should I still be controlled by others?”

“Your Majesty is still young. You must build up your strength before making your move.”

If I am to be king, then I must be king of all under heaven. If I cannot, what is the point of being king?

When an emperor’s fury erupts, a million corpses fall. Those who defy him will be executed.

Middle Age

“I am the ruler of all under heaven, the emperor before whom all people kneel. Why can’t I seek the Great Dao?”

“The Great Dao is boundless. Even a lifetime spent pursuing it may come to nothing.”

I will be the first to open a new path for all under heaven. I must witness the Qin dynasty endure for thousands of generations. Immortality is non-negotiable!

Old Age

“I’ve given him vast grasslands, two hundred thousand soldiers, and excellent generals. Can he hold on to this realm?”

“Fusu is mild-mannered and would make a worthy minister, but he lacks the methods of an emperor.”

I have paved the way for him. If he follows it, he will surely keep Qin strong for a hundred years.

Those who achieve great things cannot be mere heroes. They must be ruthless schemers who know how to wield power and kill!
