A Thousand Years Back in Time

During the two years her boyfriend of ten years, Song Zhao, was missing on an archaeological expedition, Zhu Xingyao kept living her life as usual. She thought she would go on living just fine, until Song Zhao was declared dead. At his memorial service, a strange man handed her a portrait of a beautiful woman and said, “Zhu Xingyao, come back to my side.” Clutching the portrait, Zhu Xingyao transmigrated to the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. The first person she met was a young man who looked exactly like Song Zhao, even though his name, Song Zhao, was written with different characters. But her Song Zhao was erudite and gentle, while this Song Zhao was illiterate and acted like a spoiled playboy. At first, Song Zhao asked her, “Zhu Xingyao, what would it take for you to care about me the way you care about your Song Zhao?” Zhu Xingyao answered, “Across all the lands and kingdoms, throughout the ages, there is only one Song Zhao!” Later, Song Zhao said, “Zhu Xingyao, don’t be sad. A thousand years is nothing. I’ll find my way to you. And if I can’t, I’ll give you another Song Zhao.” Zhu Xingyao answered, “Song Zhao, live well. Don’t die again. Don’t die like Song Zhao did.”
