A good novel, it's still wonderful to read again
This novel is very deep and has almost no flaws except for the forced destruction of the Dragon King and Dragon Queen in order to fulfill the myth of the Eight Immortals crossing the sea. Among them, the story of Chun Ying is heart-wrenching. She is the most helpless character in the novels I have read in ancient and modern times. Her scene opposite Zhong Liquan is amazing.
What a great book! It tells the legendary story of the Eight Immortals becoming immortals. The plot is rich and tortuous, and it also incorporates many folklores, just like a Chinese mythological universe. I especially like Tieguai Li in it. Although he has a poor image, he has a tough character and his experience is also very inspiring. But I kind of hated that officer. He was so bad. Fortunately, he was punished in the end. Overall, this is a book well worth reading.
