“Phew... Let’s rest here for a while.”
“Okay.”
The boy slowly bent down, brushed aside some grass and wildflowers, then let out a breath and sat down, shifting until he could lean against the tree. The rough, uneven bark jabbed unpleasantly into his back, but he paid it no mind, reaching over to rub the spots he had hurt in his fall.
The girl didn’t know what to do. She had accompanied the boy this far, but he hadn’t asked anything of her. She had only helped him along from time to time.
“Hikari, what are you on guard for? You can sit down.”
“No, I’m just...”
“Those Uchiha won’t find us so quickly. And even if they do, we can drive them off again.” The boy smiled calmly.
The sun grew brighter, its rays torn into fragments by the web of branches and scattered without mercy throughout the forest. The breeze drifted through, the treetops swayed, and the bright blue sky hid behind a sea of green, appearing and disappearing as the melodies of nature played all around them...
Life filled her gaze. Reassured, the girl sat beside the boy, wrapped her arms around her knees, and leaned slightly toward him. “Boruto? Will you really be here for twenty years?”
“I can’t figure it out. But if that really happens, it’ll be a huge problem.”
“A huge problem?”
“Phew, hard to say. But luckily, I have a friend like you here, so at least I won’t be too lonely.”
“Twenty years. Isn’t that a little short?” the girl murmured.
“What? I didn’t catch that.”
But the girl only smiled, opening her palm to let the light pool across it. “Boruto, the sunlight feels so warm today.”
I feel like this subject matter is quite new, why doesn't the author write about it?
Good quality, not enough quantity
