Lovecraftian + growth + System + no female lead + lightly revised worldbuilding
Note: Some aspects of the Cthulhu setting have been adjusted in this novel.
In the lightless sea, a handsome man dressed in a black robe slowly steps onto a staircase made of water.
The surrounding waters seem to welcome their ruler, parting to either side. At last, light reaches the pitch-black ocean floor.
Lier ignores the mountain-sized octopus head and its writhing tentacles.
He takes a quill and writes in a pitch-black notebook.
Name: Cthulhu
Divine rank: Old One
Abilities: mind control, physical transformation, adaptation to divinity…
Crimes: transforming humans, controlling humans, manipulating faith…
Status: Sealed.
Just as Lier writes the words “Sealed,”
countless black chains burst from the ocean floor and drag Cthulhu, who had already broken halfway through the seal, back inside it.
“No! You can’t keep me sealed forever!!!”
Lier glances at the restored sealing array and the voice fading into the distance. Holding the quill, he says calmly,
“As long as I’m here, no evil god will exist in this world.”
