"The Legend of White Snake" is one of China's four major folk love legends. It originated from the Luoyang Giant Snake Incident in the Tang Dynasty. It was initially finalized in Feng Menglong's "Warning Words" of the Ming Dynasty. It became mature and popular in the Qing Dynasty and is a model of Chinese folk collective creation. "The Legend of White Snake" describes the tortuous love story between a snake spirit who cultivated into human form and a human being. The story includes plots such as borrowing an umbrella from a tented boat, the white lady stealing Ganoderma lucidum, flooding the Jinshan Mountain, broken bridges, Leifeng Pagoda, Xu Xian's son Shilin worshiping the Pagoda, etc.
