After Our Whirlwind Wedding, I Found Out My Husband Is a Drama Queen

[Gulping at the sight of her jaw-droppingly handsome husband on the day they marry at first sight]

After leaving the military, I was talked into a blind date by my former superior. Who would have guessed my date would be a stunning CEO who owned a private café? He acted aloof, holding his coffee cup with composure, but the tips of his ears were bright red. As it turned out, he’d fallen for me at first sight ten years ago, and even the café’s name held a little secret about his feelings for me.

Married life was even more outrageous! This supposedly brilliant business executive secretly kept a “Plan to Win My Wife’s Heart” checklist. Step one: “Win her over through her stomach,” by making my favorite braised eggplant in a new way every day. Step two: “Act pitiful,” getting even more scared than I was during horror movies, yet insisting on clinging to me like a human-shaped accessory. Best of all, he embroidered the logo of my charity organization onto a couture gown, then pretended it was nothing: “I think wheat ears suit you better than diamonds.”

It wasn’t until we were caught in danger at sea and he spent three days and three nights kneeling on a rescue ship, eyes red from crying, that I realized this man I was always calling a drama queen had made love a habit, hiding it in every little detail. Now he’s wearing an apron printed with golden retrievers and baking cookies, insisting, “As chief taste tester and charity ambassador, I need to be properly certified.”

Who says a whirlwind marriage can’t be true love? When the icy CEO turns clingy and the looks-obsessed straight-shooter falls into a gentle trap, it turns out the best kind of love is when I’m happy to fall for your schemes.
