"Thousand Character Essay" is a rhyme composed of a thousand Chinese characters. It was compiled by Zhou Xingsi, the minister of Sanqi of Liang Dynasty and Xingsi of Zhou Dynasty during the Northern and Southern Dynasties. The full text consists of four-character sentences, with neat dialogues, clear regulations, and brilliant literary talent. It is an influential enlightenment book in China. Deng Shiru's "A Thousand-Character Essay in Seal Script" has a small beginning and ending movement, and subtle changes in the square and circle. The strokes in the middle section are stretched, and the long arc must bend at every turn. The shape is dignified and broad, embodying strength and gracefulness. The font proportions are correct, the vertical strokes are not drawn out, and the space is well-proportioned and coordinated. Overall it looks dignified and generous, full of creativity and interest.
