Great Ming: The Extraordinary Journey of the Prince of Yan’s Heir

Just eight years old, Zhu Gaochi, heir to the Prince of Yan, was out hunting when his attendants captured a bandit. Their interrogation revealed an astonishing truth: the man was a bandit chief who had been lying low, and he had already gathered a formidable outlaw force beneath him! Zhu Gaochi personally led troops against their stronghold. After defeating the enemy, he uncovered an even greater plot: the bandits were remnants of the Northern Yuan, secretly stockpiling grain and weapons while conspiring to contact the remaining Yuan loyalists and restore their fallen dynasty! While buying melons in the bustling market, Zhu Gaochi unexpectedly discovered penicillin in a watermelon, saving Duke Cao Li Wenzhong, who was gravely wounded and suffering from a deadly infection! When he encountered a mysterious antiques seller on the street, Zhu Gaochi saw through the man's identity as a tomb robber. Following the clues, he found the long-lost Imperial Jade Seal! A cook at the residence accidentally knocked over a jar of oil and inadvertently invented soap. Meanwhile, a craftsman there was experimenting with fireworks and stumbled upon a way to improve gunpowder into a highly effective formula. Spurred on by Zhu Gaochi's string of astonishing discoveries, the power of the Great Ming dynasty grew day by day! The Great Ancestor, Zhu Yuanzhang, asked, “With the crown prince dead, who is fit to inherit the throne?” The ministers answered in unison, “Zhu Di, Prince of Yan!” Zhu Yuanzhang pressed them: “Why him?” The ministers replied as one, “Because he has such an outstanding grandson!”
