He also repaid evil with virtue, treated his enemies and taught them the Dharma, so that they would change their ways and become a Buddha immediately; he preached the Dharma to the Emperor of Liao, making him repent and vow not to invade the Central Plains again, so that the people would not suffer the scourge of war; he preached the Dharma to the Emperor of the Tang Dynasty, making him a benevolent king.
