Half a Day's Tribulation

High above the heavens, a divine lord falls from grace and descends into the mortal world. From then on, a half-day inn appears among mortals, welcoming all who are fated to find it.

I have a cat who follows me everywhere. If she can't see me, she meows like crazy. Later, whenever she meowed, I'd answer her, and she became incredibly clingy. Until one day... I was gone. I answered her, but she could no longer hear me.

“Lingdang, it's raining! You should bring in the laundry!” A dog speaks in a human voice, water dripping from its fur as it shakes its head and sprays mist everywhere.

A cat lounges in the room and casts it a sidelong glance. “This is what life is like. You wouldn't understand.” The dog stares silently at the heavens.
