A rooster's crow heralded the birth of three sons: Zhao Zhen, Emperor Renzong of Song; Bao Zheng, Grand Academician of the Longtuge; and Hua Renyi, a beggar.
Though all three were born at the same time, their fates could not have been more different.
Emperor Renzong was the Son of Heaven, naturally exalted beyond words.
Grand Academician Bao Zheng was no less impressive, rising to the highest ranks of the court.
Compared to the two of them, Hua Renyi was worlds apart. He was just a beggar wandering the streets.
Hua Haoran transmigrated and became Hua Renyi, the beggar.
Hua Haoran was at a loss. Other people who transmigrated became princes or chief ministers, so why had he ended up as a beggar?
Fortunately, Heaven had not treated him too badly. It granted him two special abilities: he could foresee danger, and in a crisis, summon powerful figures to come to his aid.
So he decided to become a wandering beggar, living carefree with no one but himself to feed.
But that wish was not to be. Through a series of mishaps, he became someone else's human shield.
Now he had to face repeated attempts on his life by the commander-in-chief and his son.
With nowhere left to run, Hua Haoran rose to prominence through his summons. Like a cockroach that just would not die, he survived one attempt on his life after another.
His future looked brighter and brighter...
