The Ideal City

It is rare to see a novel about the development of the construction industry. The heroine Su Xiao is engaged in cost work. Her growth experience in the construction company allows me to see the original intention of the construction craftsmen to start a business, the spirit of hard work, and the great achievements they have made in the development of the times. The subject of the novel is novel, creative, and well-written. It involves a wide range of professional knowledge, reflects many career interpersonal problems, and is very close to real work and life. It is helpful for young people to enter the world and make achievements in the workplace. It is beautiful and insightful.

The storyline of this book is very real and fascinating, especially the description of the unspoken rules of the workplace, which makes people empathize with them. The heroine's choices when facing various difficulties and challenges are also very inspiring. I feel that this is not only a novel about women's counterattack in the workplace, but also a guide for people to find their way in the workplace. Well worth reading!

Ruohua Ranran's "Ideal City" breaks out of the clichéd framework of urban workplace novels that focus on love, and takes root in the niche professional field of construction costing. Using the cost schedule as a clue, it connects the power struggle, capital reform and human nature game within a large group, completing a realistic workplace narrative. The novel focuses on Su Xiao's ups and downs in the workplace. At the beginning, an unjust case of bribery in the industry directly pushes the protagonist into a desperate situation. The certificate is withheld and the industry is banned. Su Xiao is forced to settle in the small company Tiancheng. She struggles to survive amidst pressure from her seniors, exclusion from colleagues, project traps, and factional strife. Step by step, she breaks through with her excellent cost professional skills, and finally reaches the core level of the group and promotes internal reforms of the company. The most outstanding thing about the novel is the layered sense of group portraits. There are no absolute good guys and bad guys. Xia Ming is good at calculation and moves in the chess game of interests, but he also has his own weaknesses and perseverance; Zhao Xiankun is in a high position, well versed in the machinations of capital, and at the same time has the long-term pattern of corporate innovation; middle-level managers have selfish motives and are involved in self-protection, which is a true portrayal of countless ordinary working people. The author does not shy away from tearing apart the bloody side of the workplace: scapegoating culture, office factionalism, favoritism over professionalism, and shortcuts to promotion. These real-life dilemmas accurately poke the workplace anxiety of contemporary workplace people. Readers can easily see their own confusion and compromise in the workplace in the characters. The spiritual focus of the whole book is Su Xiao's career ideal that has never changed. While everyone agrees that cost can blur data and favors can replace interests, Su Xiao stubbornly insists on fair data and professional purity. The fable of "the dragon slayer eventually becomes a dragon" in the book is a spiritual torture throughout the entire text: in a turbid workplace environment, after holding power, will you be assimilated by interests, or will you stick to your original intention? Su Xiao's answer is the core idea of "Ideal City". The so-called ideal city is never the high-rise business map that one can occupy after rising in the position. It is the spiritual territory where a person refuses to be complicit, sticks to the professional bottom line, and respects the original intention of the profession in a complex workplace environment. Many people regard this book as a refreshing article about women's counterattack in the workplace, but without the shell of promotion, it is essentially a growth apocalypse for all professionals. Twists and turns are unavoidable in the workplace. Moderate emotional intelligence and work intelligence are essential skills for survival, but flexibility does not mean bottom-line compromise, and tact does not mean giving up principles. In a utilitarian workplace environment, it is easy for us to lose our original professional aspirations for short-term interests. Su Xiao's growth path just proves that short-term shortcuts may be profitable for a while, but long-term professional strength and a correct bottom line can support people to go further and more steadily.

This novel is a type of novel that I like about female protagonists being self-reliant, coupled with all kinds of competition in the workplace. It is not long, so I plan to finish it before reading the author's next article (Ideal City, Volume 2). So if you like the author's novels, give the author a thumbs up.

It allows you to read each character and people's hearts vividly, and feel immersed in it, as if that person is right in front of you, and you are experiencing his every move, every gesture, and every look in his eyes, all of which are very appropriate. I admire it so much, it's a great book worth recommending.

I feel like I haven't finished writing yet.
