This book was first published in May 1986, and this edition has been left largely unchanged. In it, the author recalls his career as a journalist and the major events he covered over the years, including the May Thirtieth Massacre, the April Twelfth Coup, the marriage of Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling, the September Eighteenth Incident, the January Twenty-Eighth Incident, and the July Seventh Incident. It is a primary source for the study of Republican-era history, especially the history of journalism during that period.
