Even though the second part is less thrilling and hearty and epic than the first part, I still have more feelings for the characters in the second part than the first part. When I was a child, I read both parts from beginning to end at least a dozen times. At that time, they were part of my life. Years later, when Erin Hunter forced the return of the old heroes from Part Two in Part Seven and Part Nine, the original warmth between the lines was gone, and those familiar characters became beyond recognition. I suddenly realized that the paradise in my memories was out of reach.
