My Father the Emperor and I Are of One Heart, but I Drive Him Crazy

[A sick princess + daily madness + absurd palace intrigue + clear-eyed heroine + nation-building]

Xia Lige arrives in the Xia Dynasty. She is the honored Sixth Princess, but her illness makes her situation far from ideal.

A mother with no one to rely on, a father who might as well not exist, and a sickly daughter.

If life is already this hard, then surely anything a sick princess does is perfectly reasonable, right?

Beat up the princess today, insult the empress tomorrow, give the empress dowager a fit the day after, and even put nails in the horseshoes of the whole Great Xia!

Countless memorials call for her punishment, but the emperor just shakes his head and says there's nothing he can do.

“The Sixth Princess is ill. The rest of you will just have to put up with it!”

The people of the capital tremble, afraid the princess will go berserk and kill them.

Who could have expected floods, fires, locust plagues, smallpox...

Thanks to the Sixth Princess's unthinkable suggestions, the horses run faster, the epidemic is brought to an end, and countless lives are saved.

The people all agree: “She's not sick at all. She's a lucky star!”

Even the Crown Prince of Qi says he wants to marry the Sixth Princess.

If the dowry isn't enough, Qi will make up the difference.

The emperor panics when he hears this. “If they want a dowry, Great Xia can provide one too!”

Emperor: “Little Lige, take the throne!”

Xia Lige: “I'd rather be a dog than an emperor!”

She's already too busy helping Great Xia overcome its disasters. Only a fool would go to Qi!

Isn't it much more fun to act crazy in front of the emperor now and then, and stir up some palace intrigue when she gets bored?

But things don't go as she'd hoped. When the two countries go to war, Xia Lige ultimately sets out on the road of leaving her homeland to save her country...
