Li Tiezhu in the Heavenly Kingdom, Reborn

Li Tiezhu was an ordinary coal miner who worked hard every day. He came home filthy and covered in coal dust, but his wife, A Jiao, was a kind and capable woman. Every day, she prepared hot water so he could wash up before going to bed. Li Tiezhu had been perfectly content with his simple life of a loving wife and a warm bed, but his happy, peaceful days stirred the jealousy of his coworker Er Manzi. Then an accident in the mine sent Li Tiezhu transmigrating into the body of another Li Tiezhu, a low-ranking soldier in the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.

Though this Li Tiezhu was a strapping, burly man, he lived from one day to the next, constantly hungry and facing starvation. Every day, he also had to evade the Qing troops hunting him. Somehow, he had become a rebel. Thinking of the miserable fate he had suffered in his previous life and comparing it to his current predicament, Tiezhu seethed at the unfairness of fate. Why did a person’s life have to be so wretched? He decided he would no longer submit to his cruel lot. He would defy fate and change his destiny, and the first step was to rebuild the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.
