Crime Investigation: Case Files

Sweet-talking veteran X genius doctor

Shen Li met his first love at a summer training camp before his freshman year of college. Beautiful, sweet, clever: everything about them hit Shen Li right in the heart. He flirted with them for most of the summer, and just as things were getting intense, when he was about to kiss them, they ran away. What was that about?

There seems to have been a heartbreaking misunderstanding somewhere along the way.

While pursuing clues in a case, Shen Li infiltrates an unfamiliar village. Just as he finds himself in danger, his first love, who vanished years ago, appears again. He thought their reunion would be an explosive, passionate encounter, but instead...

What the hell? Am I really that easy to forget?

And just like that, his heart breaks all over again.

This story focuses on criminal investigations and solving cases. The romance is not angsty at all. The heavier parts of the story fall on the people involved in the cases. Since the plot takes priority, the leads' relationship still develops fairly quickly.
