A quirky, warmhearted, funny girl & a cool, polite, mature, steady man
The heroine is like a little sun: usually carefree and outspoken, but also very perceptive. The hero is starved for affection and sees her as his light. He’s quite the doting, fatherly type, and later develops a bit of a yandere streak.
Tong Yueran has lived an ordinary life for over twenty years when she and her family are transported to an alternate world resembling the Republican era. From the start, she’s separated from her family and forced to marry a powerful figure from a novel. All Tong Yueran can say is, “Heavens, give me a break!”
But why does this powerful man look kind of handsome? She thinks that, with help from a clueless System, they’ll make a deal like characters in a soap opera: pretend to be married for a while, then find their families and go their separate ways. But one wrong move, and she starts falling for him, only to be tormented by the jerk. When they meet again, his yandere side comes out: “Yanyan, it’s all my fault. Punish me however you want, just don’t leave me.” (Inspired by the Republican era, but set in an alternate world. Alternate world, alternate world.)
Sweet, sweet, sweet: sweetness is the author’s whole point. I wanted to read a sweet little romance set in the Republican era, but couldn’t find one I liked, so I used my imagination and wrote one myself. This is my first time writing, so feel free to offer good suggestions. I’ll gladly accept thoughtful feedback, but if you come in just to insult me, no way.
