"Wuthering Heights" is the masterpiece of Emily Brontë, the second sister of the three famous Brontë sisters in the British literary world. It is a shocking "Gothic novel". This work tells the story of Heathcliff, a gypsy abandoned child adopted by Mr. Earnshaw, and his only daughter Catherine, who grew up together since childhood. They were childhood sweethearts, but their love and revenge did not end well due to the pressure of the world. Due to class differences and secular prejudice, after the death of Mr. Earnshaw, Heathcliff, a "pauper" who loved Catherine wholeheartedly, disappeared after learning that Edgar, the son of Mr. Linton of Thrushcross Manor, proposed to Catherine. Catherine also married Edgar. Even though Heathcliff later returned to his hometown after becoming a gentleman, he failed to get Catherine as he wished. After Catherine died prematurely due to childbirth, Heathcliff's affectionate mood turned into full of resentment, and he launched a crazy revenge on everyone around him. Finally, when his revenge plan was about to be completed, he felt Catherine's call and died with his love for Catherine.
