I Want a Happy Home

In the 1980s, a frail girl named Liu Meng emerged from a dilapidated apartment block. Her life was full of twists, turns, and hardship, yet she never gave up on her dreams.

They say a happy family can heal you for life, while an unhappy one leaves you spending your whole life healing. Liu Meng spent her life experiencing hardship and trying to heal from it at the same time. In her youth, her family was poor, and her father was an abusive alcoholic. He later had an affair and abandoned her, her three siblings, and their mother. She dropped out of school early to work and support the family. As an adult, she started her own business and earned a living, caring for her sick mother and younger siblings until they grew up. In middle age, she had a successful career but an unhappy marriage, enduring everything for her family and sacrificing her own happiness. In old age, disaster struck and she nearly went bankrupt. She had no husband or children, no one to care for her, and indifferent relatives. Depression made her ill. Once she finally found peace, she came to live the life she'd always wanted in a different way, and at last fulfilled her lifelong dream...
