Though We Met Late, It Wasn't Too Late

The Grand Princess of Southern Yan & Lord Yanyang of Northern Yan

“I hear the Grand Princess of Southern Yan is arrogant, overbearing, and rude. She is truly unworthy of Your Highness,” said Shu Zheng, chancellor of Northern Yan, hoping to block the match.

“Then choose someone else. Any princess of Southern Yan who is of age, regardless of seniority, may take the rank of Noble Consort.” Lord Yanyang, Situ Liuyun, had run out of patience and made his decree. How hidebound. Was I marrying a title, or a person?

The Grand Princess of Southern Yan, Nalan Jinsui, was twenty and still unmarried. It wasn’t because she was ugly or unwanted, but because she was too discerning for anyone to meet her standards. She always said her expectations weren’t high; there were simply too few people in the world who suited her.

The Grand Princess of Southern Yan never spun herself a romantic love story. Instead, she dug her own marital grave.

One day, Nalan Jin of Southern Yan couldn’t brake in time and crashed straight into Lord Yanyang of Northern Yan.

“A-Tang, isn’t this wonderful? I advise you to fall in love with me soon. Don’t make me wait too long,” Lord Yanyang whispered by Nalan Jin’s left ear with a smile.

Nalan Jin sprang away at once. Making sure she had put enough distance between them, she said coldly, “Lord Yanyang, I advise you to give up on me soon, or you’ll lose both your money and your dignity.”

Fortunately, those destined to meet will cross mountains and rivers to find each other.

He said, “Tangtang, though we met late, it’s not too late for us!”
