At 27, Qin Xiaoyou quit her job in a fit of anger and planned to move back home and live off her parents. But after enduring one matchmaking ordeal after another, she lasted only six months before packing her things and fleeing.
Qin Xiaoyou had been afraid of dogs since childhood and always kept her distance. After finally finding a place to rent and settling into a new city, she discovered that her new neighbor, Xun Qing, had a big dog named Xiaoxiao.
Xiaoxiao loved Qin Xiaoyou and always ran after her whenever they met, but she got so frightened that she ran away every time. Their encounters were always full of mishaps.
In the end, Xun Qing had no choice but to hire Qin Xiaoyou to work for him, using her job as an excuse to help her overcome her fear of dogs and learn to get along peacefully with Xiaoxiao.
Qin Xiaoyou had hit a wall in her job search and was growing more anxious as her savings dwindled. When Xun Qing offered her an opportunity, the lure of money proved too tempting to resist. She gritted her teeth and agreed to work for him for a year. But before the year was up, she and Xiaoxiao had not only learned to get along peacefully: she and Xiaoxiao’s owner, Xun Qing, had become a couple.
One day, the two of them went to a haunted house. The moment they stepped inside, Qin Xiaoyou was so scared that she clung to Xun Qing and refused to let go.
After carrying her out of the haunted house, Xun Qing laughed and said, “Qin Xiaoyou, you’re such a scaredy-cat.”
Qin Xiaoyou replied, indignant and unapologetic, “Hmph, I am a scaredy-cat. So what?”
“I’m brave, so I’m just right for you.”
