“We obtained, beyond the world, the power to negate the world.”, Dainsleif
On the continent of Teyvat, Aether accidentally discovers an eighth element, the Void Element, beyond the world's seven known elements. This mysterious and powerful force was sealed away by ancient history and swallowed by a rift in space and time after a cataclysm. As Aether masters the Void Element, his power quickly surpasses that of anyone else in the world. It grants him the wondrous ability to manipulate time and space, letting him create openings in battle, control his enemies' movements, and even twist reality itself when necessary. Along the way, Aether uncovers more secrets about the Void Element and makes many friends.
Though the Void Element is powerful, it is equally dangerous, corroding Aether's mind and body. As his strength grows, he finds it increasingly difficult to control his newly discovered abilities, and gradually begins to lose his sanity. As he struggles between emotion and reason, his experiences with his friends become his only spiritual sustenance, helping him break through his limits.
Meanwhile, the gods of Teyvat notice the Void Element's awakening and sense the threat it could pose.
What will Aether choose in the end? Will he use the power of the eighth element to fight the gods and become the world's destroyer? Protect the world with his own strength alongside his friends? Or become the world's new god?
“Are friends truly friends? What is their existence, what is their meaning? I don't know.”
Perhaps... perhaps he does?
