Awakening a System from the Start, I Become the Protagonist’s Guardian

After Chen Feng dies, he transmigrates into the world of a fantasy novel and becomes the young sect master of the Tianming Sect.

What? I've transmigrated into the villain?

Ding! Congratulations, Host. You have successfully bound to the Path-Protector Self-Rescue System.

Chen Feng is overjoyed after getting the System, already dreaming of crushing the protagonist beneath his heel and becoming the strongest under heaven.

Then the System suddenly says coldly, “The protagonist will kill you in twenty years.” Its words douse Chen Feng's excitement like a bucket of ice water.

Chen Feng says, “You can't be serious. Is there anything I can do?”

The System replies, “The only way is to earn the protagonist's favor. Once it reaches 100%, the protagonist will become your underling.”

Chen Feng says, “Great, great! Not bad. I can even recruit the protagonist as my underling. In that case, the problem I just asked about isn't a problem anymore.”

The System immediately adds, “I forgot to tell you: before the favorability reaches 100%, if the protagonist dies, you will disappear too.”

Chen Feng: “You have got to be kidding me.”

From then on, Chen Feng follows the protagonist around to earn his favor and acts as his guardian, terrified that if the protagonist dies, he'll be dragged down with him.
