I Landed in a Book with a Terrible Ending, and the Sharp-Tongued Prince Fell for Me

Hua Zhongjin struggled to survive in the apocalypse, only to be betrayed and killed by someone she had loved like a younger sister.

Unexpectedly, she is selected by a plot-monitoring System as a candidate for a new job. If Hua Zhongjin agrees to join a novel called His Sharp-Tongued Highness Falls for Me and become one of its characters, she can live again.

In exchange, she must help the System monitor the plot and ensure the male lead eventually takes the throne. If he dies or fails to become emperor, the small world will collapse and everyone in it will perish.

Hua Zhongjin figures that a wretched life is better than a good death, and readily agrees. She begins her new life as Hua Zhongjin, the character in the book.

She hears the Second Prince is going to be ambushed? Got it, she'll go save him right away!

She hears the Second Prince is choosing a consort? Got it, she'll go at once. The closer she is, the easier it is to shield him from a blade.

Later, Hua Zhongjin follows Chu Yanqing to the battlefield, fighting to defend the nation's borders.

At last, Chu Yanqing ascends the throne, while Hua Zhongjin rides out to war once more, this time alone. But waiting behind her are Chu Yanqing and the people of Tianzhao, all hoping for her triumphant return.

Later, Hua Zhongjin returns from afar, covered in wounds. In front of the entire court, Chu Yanqing declares, "She is the empress who belongs to me alone, but she is the regent of all Tianzhao."

The assembled court kneels and cries, "Long live the Regent! Long live the Regent! Long, long live the Regent!"
