S. Zweig was an Austrian writer. He entered the literary world as a poet. After the German fascists came to power, he went into exile in the United Kingdom and Brazil, and later committed suicide with his wife in Brazil. He wrote a lot of books in various genres throughout his life, and was especially good at biographies and novellas. He was known as the master of novellas. Most of his works focus on psychological analysis. His representative works include the novel "The Anxiety of the Soul", the autobiography "The World of Yesterday", and the biographies of Fouche and Maria Stuart.
