Two small-time crooks, stumbling through life in the city, are tired of the same old routine of eating until they’re full and waiting until they’re hungry again. On a whim, they head into the mountains to hunt for treasure. They never expect to set off a string of bizarre and uncanny adventures: a fantastical underwater cave, a mysterious region with no trace of human life, an encounter with a mysterious man-eating ape, and a battle with a prehistoric giant crocodile in a deep pool. They even subdue a Methuselah insect, whose lifespan rivals that of Peng Zu and which ancient people worshipped as a divine beast. In the end, they accidentally stumble into the Ten Directions Heavenly Secret and discover the tomb of Zhuge Kongming.
