The Myriad Visions of Tianyin

This is not a wish-fulfillment novel. It focuses on the development of the story and features an ensemble cast. When each arc ends, a completely new main storyline and point of view will take over. There is no fixed protagonist. Readers who can’t accept the relationships and emotions of the current viewpoint character can feel free to read at double speed.

Setting:

In the first year of the Calamity Era, the apocalypse struck the entire world. An unprecedented disaster swept across the globe: pollution, mutation, and the rise of mutants dealt humanity a near-extinction blow. Ninety-nine percent of Blue Star was tainted by the disaster and turned into wasteland, becoming a paradise for mutants and no longer fit for human habitation. The surviving humans called the calamity brought by the apocalypse the “Calamity Tide.”

Yet in the midst of despair, not every effect of the mysterious particles known as “Dustborn,” the source of all the calamities brought by the Calamity Tide, was negative. They could also be harnessed by humans.

By a stroke of luck, one fortunate person reached the place where the Calamity Tide began: the “Primordial Deep Well.” There, he learned how to wield Dustborn to gain power and brought that knowledge back with him. He discovered the twenty-seven Heavenly Descent Sequences and gave the name “Heavenly Descent” to all who embarked on the path of the Sequences.

Led by the Heavenly Descent, the surviving humans banded together and formed settlements. A hundred years after the disaster, humanity had restored a measure of civilization and built seven vast megacities in the wasteland: “Hainton,” “Newmani,” “Kesi,” “Jiulong,” “Raodu,” “Niansanshi,” and “Tianyun.”

Only then did humanity finally secure a foothold in the new world after the Calamity Tide.
