Demon Slayer: A Lament in Starlight

“If kindness is a sin, let the stars bear witness as I redeem you to a lifetime of peace.”

The Butterfly Mansion has three sisters:

Kanae, compassionate as a flower; Shinobu, sharp as poison;

and Shiori, the one everyone forgot

the creator of Star Breathing, the only swordswoman permitted to be “weak.”

She lived in the shadow of her genius younger sister,

yet died amid her older sister's crumbling tears.

The ice and snow of Upper Rank Two froze her life,

and sealed away all love and hatred.

When she opened her eyes again,

the world was as gentle as ever,

but she alone had forgotten why she once wielded a sword.

The sister who had hated her to the bone

had now become her sharpest shield and deadliest poison.

Thirteen forms of Star Breathing,

each one a love letter to the dead.

The secret art, “Echoes of Reincarnation,”

uses every last memory as its price,

letting her enemies experience her former kindness.

This time, she will no longer flee the battlefield.

Deep in the snow, Doma's smile is still compassionate,

but she hears her own frozen heart beating

“Big sis, this time, I'll be the one to protect you on the way home.”

Death is not the end. Forgetting is.

But I've died twice, so I remember everything.
