Me, Him, Her, and Her

This is my first book, so I hope you’ll be patient with me.

It’s set in a fictional future where technology is slightly more advanced than ours, but it’s not a spacefaring setting. The story has both sweet and heartbreaking moments, along with plenty of foreshadowing. I’ll do my best to tie up every thread. This is a female-oriented ensemble story that asks readers to think a little as they read. If it’s not your thing, feel free to leave.

A few notes on the setting:

1. Robots are strictly regulated by law, and businesses are limited in how many they can use. They are required to employ a set number of human workers to protect low-income jobs. Wealthy families are divided into tiers: the most elite have their own butlers and servants, ordinary rich families use domestic robots, and lower-income households can hire temporary nannies.

2. As technology advances, medicine is developing rapidly too. Longevity vaccines are available to everyone, and the average life expectancy is 150 to 200 years.

3. Marriage is highly flexible: same-sex couples can marry, and anyone can choose whether to marry or be married into a family. After a divorce, the law strictly protects children’s rights and property. The country has strict screening and assessment standards for staff at welfare homes, providing strong protections for orphans’ rights, including the future inheritance rights of some orphans.
