Chen Sanliang's Later Biography

This work is a follow-up to the novel "Chen Sanliang" of the Yue Opera. The work describes the emotional legend of Chen Sanliang (Li Suping), a strange woman, and her sworn brother Chen Kui, who support each other and take it as their duty to help the people of the world during the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty. As a court official, Chen Kui was always on the road to provide disaster relief and put down rebellions. Then Chen Kui had a shocking secret. In order to save his father, he had to disguise himself as a man, and he could never go back to this disguise. After the death of his father, the young Chen Kui became a beggar. Fortunately, he was taken in by Chen Sanliang (Li Suping), who was also a homeless man in Tianya. In order to prevent Chen Kui from falling into prostitution, Chen Kui still pretended to be a man, and the two became brother and sister. In order to survive in troubled times, Chen Kuike passed the Jinshi examination and reunited with his sister several times. In order to protect Chen Kui's identity, the two got married. After marriage, the two always maintained a polite relationship, like relatives and confidants. Their love for each other was deep and restrained. After King Ning rebelled, Chen Kui died for his country, and Chen Sanliang also drowned himself in the river.
