The Beastwood and Northern Desert

In a courtyard, an old man and a child sat on the doorstep. The child looked at the old man and asked, “What is a clan?”

“A clan is a place where we live together.”

“Then what makes people members of the same clan?”

“Clan members? Everyone born of the same land belongs to the same clan.”

The child suddenly understood. “Grandpa, Clan Chief, I get it! Five Cluster Valley counts as a clan, and the vast Northern Desert is a clan too. Everyone in the Beast Forest, whether they know one another or not, is one big family?”

The old man chuckled. “Little one, didn’t you want a name? From today on, you’ll be called She Kansheng.”
