Time Will Answer for Me

Multicolored lights shone down over the bar as Jiang Huaiyan sat back on the sofa, drinking. Everyone was playing a game when the bottle pointed at him, drawing all eyes in the room.

“What’s the shortest relationship you’ve ever had?”

Jiang Huaiyan answered calmly, “Half a month.”

Everyone jeered. “Young Master Jiang, that’s cold. You dumped her that fast?”

Jiang Huaiyan took a sip of his drink and gave a cold laugh. “She dumped me.”

Everyone teased him, but across from him, Lu Zhiqing lowered her head, her fingers tightening unconsciously around her glass.

When he was young, Jiang Huaiyan seemed wild and carefree to everyone. Only Lu Zhiqing knew what lay hidden beneath the surface.

They encouraged and supported each other, brought warmth into each other’s lives, and grew together. They secretly loved each other, then reunited after years apart.

“Jiang Huaiyan, do you still love me?”

“Can’t you tell? Time has answered for me.”
