Crayon Shin-chan: I Reincarnated as Yumeha Oyama!

Synopsis

Su Qing, an overworked 996 wage slave, dies suddenly after staying up all night, only to wake up as Xiaoshan Mengya in Crayon Shin-chan: the aunt who loves drinking, slacks off, and is always being teased by Misae! Stuck with the reputation of a lazy aunt, she uses her office-worker instincts to cause all sorts of uproar in Kasukabe. Labeling the wardrobe gets her suspected of being possessed by an alien, and her work proposal for Hiroshi leaves the whole family stunned. Meanwhile, Shin-chan’s blunt remarks hit her right in the heart. A “healing juice” made with tap water and his words, “Aunt Mengya, you have to stay in Kasukabe forever,” gradually make her give up on just muddling through life.

She unexpectedly discovers Mengya’s hidden talent for drawing and submits a manga made from Shin-chan’s doodles. After an initial rejection, she becomes a warmly beloved manga artist around Kasukabe. She leads the effort to save a park slated for redevelopment and prevents a century-old cherry tree from being cut down. Amid the chaotic rescue plans, she comes to understand the concern hidden in Misae’s nagging, the tenderness beneath Hiroshi’s beer belly, and the meaning of family.

There are no astonishing comebacks or complicated plotlines, just the warmth of dinner at the Nohara home, the laughter of the kindergarten children, and promises made beneath the cherry tree. The office worker who once only wanted to “stay alive” finally turns “survival” into “living” in the two-dimensional Kasukabe, and, as Xiaoshan Mengya, completes the answer sheet for all the warmth and regrets she left behind in her previous life.
