Still Tangled Together

A letter had been left on the windowsill. Inside was a photo of Mr. Shen’s first love, with a divorce agreement tucked beneath it.

Chu Chu knew that even as a stand-in, she wasn’t perfect or beyond reproach.

So she signed the divorce agreement without hesitation and went abroad.

Three years later, Chu Chu returned to China for the Tang Prize ceremony as a rising star in the medical world.

After the ceremony, she went back to her place.

Only to find Mr. Shen waiting outside her door.

The man was still aloof and refined, but his face, shrouded in shadow, flickered in and out of view through the smoke.
