[This book is dedicated to my fellow readers] Age is no excuse for a crime. Those who bully others for years and cruelly deprive them of life will get what they deserve.
“Wei dao zao! Ben luo tia tiao ni gei!”
The carefree days of youth, a girl’s smile blooming like a flower. The fatal allure of the girl of one’s dreams has always been romantic and untamed. I’m Guo Hao, though everyone calls me Hao’er. When my younger sister disappears, I set out to find her and stumble into all sorts of strange and mysterious things. Do immortals really exist? Can they fly on swords using magical arts? A whole new world opens up before me. Beautiful women accompany me wherever I go. I’m going to become the most handsome man alive.
Zeng Junxiang brooded alone, all sorrowful and pitiful,
weeping and sniveling, his tears flowing without end. He muttered to himself again and again:
“Flowers may drift away, yet people remain unmoved. I swear I won’t change a single hue. Once the heart has been toyed with, put away true feelings: nothing in this world can compare. I only hate that true love is so scarce. From now on, I’m alone, with no one above to share my thoughts and no one below to hear me. Proud amid frost and snow, the plum grove stands alone. Time withers my rosy face. I’d gladly sink into the dark gutter, black as hair. From now on, no pretty girl will keep her fair complexion. I regret it now, but my song ends at dusk. Blame my father for being too poor, and the dark, grubby voice that sings of ants!”
After a long pause, Zeng Junxiang spoke again. “Damn it, I’m going to die!” Still sniffling and grumbling, Zeng Junxiang slapped himself over and over, first on the left, then on the right, like a rattling drum.
