[Overworked demon slayer x aloof nine-tailed fox x ice-cold beauty team captain]
As you can see, Shen Luo Ran is a protagonist who grows over the course of the story. All three leads are chaste. The story begins when Shen Luo Ran joins the Demon Suppression Bureau. Some of the worldbuilding may have plot holes, so don’t read if that bothers you. Qing Ji’s original surname is Tu Shan, but she is only called by her given name in the story.
Born with supernatural powers, Shen Luo Ran goes from working a regular nine-to-six office job to becoming a demon slayer.
At the Demon Suppression Bureau, she meets Bai Ye Shuang, an aloof and seemingly icy team captain with a surprisingly complex personality.
The night before she reports for duty, she rescues Qing Ji, a nine-tailed fox who crashes through her window.
But ever since rescuing the fox, Shen Luo Ran has found herself tired every day, with far less energy than before.
Meanwhile, thanks to her attentive care, the little fox’s injuries heal quickly.
And as Shen Luo Ran and Bai Ye Shuang train day after day to hunt demons at the bureau, the ice around the captain’s heart gradually melts.
One night, Shen Luo Ran turns off the light and prepares to sleep. Half-asleep, she senses someone climbing onto her, but she is too tired to think straight. She reaches out and fumbles around, feeling only a tuft of soft fur.
“Little fox, stop messing around.”
The next morning, she opens her eyes to find Qing Ji lying on top of her, their eyes meeting. It seems she is still holding the fox’s tail.
