Bao Zheng was clear in his trial, strict in enforcing the law, not afraid of powerful people, not partial to selfish interests, honest and upright, and obeyed orders and prohibitions. He was known as "Bao Qingtian" and "Bao Gong", and the capital had a saying that "when there is no joint, there is Yama Luo Bao Lao". After his death, he became a well-known example of "honest official".
