This book is a revised version, written for science and engineering students in higher vocational colleges. "Application is the purpose, and necessity is enough" is the basic principle of writing this book. Taking into account the development of higher vocational education under the new situation, the editor combines years of teaching practice and the needs of curriculum reform, and strives to make the book easy to learn and practical. The content of this book is divided into: determinants, matrices, linear equations, infinite series, Fourier transform, Laplace transform, random events and probability, one-dimensional random variables and their digital characteristics, basic mathematical statistics, and basic graph theory. During the revision, linear programming was added to the system of linear equations, and all the basics of graph theory were rewritten.

I particularly like the matrix and linear equations parts in the book, which are very helpful for understanding engineering problems. However, I kind of hate infinite series, they are so difficult to understand. And I think there can be more examples in the book to better help students understand. Overall, this is a good basic engineering mathematics textbook.
