Feng Xin is the only fire phoenix in all of heaven and earth. After making herself far too conspicuous in the Celestial Court, she was ambushed during her rebirth from the ashes. In an instant, she went from a fire phoenix to a barnyard chicken, and could only rely on talismans to stay alive.

Feng Xin formed a hand seal and chanted, “Heaven and earth as my axis, myself at the center. I dwell in rivers and rest in sacred trees. Conceal!”

To regain her powers, she sneaked into the mortal world, hoping to use the Locking Demon Tower’s suppressing artifact to restore her magic. There, she happened to meet Lan Yuan, the Water Qilin who had been reincarnated as a young Taoist. Their meeting set the story in motion.
