Everyone in the Cultivation World Is Lovesick, Except Me, the Unhinged Passerby

Abandoned project, an embarrassing relic. It can serve as a prequel to the series; think of it as a replayable game with save files. The prequel ends with every character reaching a bad ending in which they die.

After transmigrating into a cultivation world, Qin Yanlou just wants to take it easy and enjoy retirement, but is forced into the role of the ill-fated loner.

She stumbles upon a shabby little sect whose members all have revenge plots, and every one of them is a villain doomed to a bad ending.

Torture and heartbreak, being cut open and having one's core dug out, love given to the wrong person... In the end, they go mad and become villainous bosses who wipe out entire families and dig up graves.

Qin Yanlou slowly types a question mark, feeling like even her kidneys are in trouble, then grabs her luggage and runs away in the middle of the night.

For the sake of five meat buns, she is tricked and cajoled into climbing the Ninefold Stairway and joining Shangshan Sect, the most mysterious of the Six Great Immortal Sects.

System: Congratulations, you have unlocked a new storyline.

The steady and reliable senior brother is a lovesick second male lead in a harem story where everyone falls for the heroine; the second senior sister, whose sword can split the sky, is a disposable character in a story about a heaven-defying hero; even the junior brother is a stand-in in a tragic romance built around the idealized first love...

Qin Yanlou: I bet the mountains here are all bare. There probably isn't even a wild vegetable to be found.

After carefully looking into things, she discovers that the entire cultivation world is full of people who have reincarnated with their brains stuck in romance mode. Even the ashes scattered after death take the shape of their beloved.

Qin Yanlou clutches her secret identity. Sure enough, being an ordinary passerby is the safest role.

But why has this cultivation world, overflowing with romance, descended into a bizarre adventure of monster-hunting and solving crimes?

Reborn? Transmigrated? Have the paper characters awakened? Is the author forcing them to act?

Qin Yanlou sighs deeply: Good thing I didn't kill off all these love-struck fools just to save myself some trouble at the start. Still, if they don't behave, locking them in the dark room is the safest option.

There are lots of clues foreshadowed early on. If it's hard to follow, feel free to skip chapters; loose ends will be tied up later.
