The Qilin Hero of the Three Realms

The protagonist, Wan Lin'er, was originally a Golden-Winged Roc perched on a golden parasol tree in the garden of the Primordial Spirit, the creator of all things. After spending thousands of years by the Primordial Spirit's side, she absorbed its teachings and became steeped in spiritual energy.

When the Primordial Spirit finished teaching its disciples and was about to enter seclusion, it remembered the roc that had kept it company for thousands of years and enlightened her, allowing her to reincarnate.

She was reborn in Wanjia Village. From childhood, she was clever, bright with spiritual energy, skilled in both letters and arms, and free to travel between the Three Realms.

Though she was not one of the Primordial Spirit's formal disciples, she was deeply loved and supported by her master and four senior brothers and sisters: Patriarch Hongjun, Patriarch Hun Kun, Lady Nüwa, and Daoist Lu Ya. She also became good friends with Sun Wukong, the Victorious Fighting Buddha.

She was fair and upright in her dealings, hated evil, and loved standing up for the wronged.

For this, the Primordial Spirit gave her two ancient divine artifacts, the Compass and the Square, so she could use them to set the rules of the Three Realms straight.

She punished evil and promoted good across the Three Realms, upheld justice and banished wickedness, cleared away corruption, and brought auspicious fortune to all. Revered throughout the Three Realms, she was hailed as its auspicious divine hero: the Qilin Hero.
