The young duke lounged on the sofa with one leg crossed over the other. The servants around him watched the young master in terror as he smashed the century-old collection of the ducal estate.
“Brother, I'm sorry...”
“It's all right, as long as you're happy...”
In the interstellar era, Guides are scarce. As soon as one is discovered, they must be sent to a designated school for standardized education. After graduation, being assigned to multiple Sentinels is commonplace. For a century, the Duke of Lance's household had produced only Sentinels. Their mental powers were so strong that few Guides could match them, and they were doomed to die from uncontrollable mental instability. But the young master was an exception. He had no mental powers, and developed a mental illness as a teenager, making his moods especially unpredictable.
After he awakens as a Guide, one problem after another comes his way.
